Source: A 75-year-old man died Monday after his bicycle veered into a tree trimming truck and he was run over, police said. The Burlingame man, who authorities didn't identify, was struck around 12:15 p.m. as he rode in the 1100 block of Cortez Avenue, said Burlingame police Capt. Mike Matteucci. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The bike rider, who was heading south, swerved into the side of a truck as it passed him from behind. The truck then ran over the man, killing him. According to authorities the victim was wearing a helmet. Police said there is nothing to indicate the truck driver broke the law. No arrests have been made. The truck driver, who has not been identified, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Matteucci said. Police will reconstruct the collision as part of their investigation.
