Source: A 25-year-old woman was killed Saturday night after she was hit by multiple vehicles on Dixie Highway near Radcliff Elementary School. Beverly Jeter, of Elizabethtown, was hit in the southbound lanes of Dixie Highway in Radcliff, said Hardin County deputy coroner John Clemens. Her bicycle was at the scene, but it was not known if she was riding it or walking with it, he said. The accident was reported at about 9:30 p.m. and happened about 25 yards south of Radcliff Elementary, Radcliff Police Department spokesman Bryce Shumate said. Police and firefighters responded to the scene and despite resuscitation attempts, Jeter was pronounced dead at the scene, Shumate said. She died of multiple blunt force trauma, Clemens said. The death is under investigation by the Radcliff Police Department and it is not currently known how Jeter ended up in the southbound lane of traffic or exactly how many vehicles hit her, Shumate said. It is known that she was hit by more than one, he said. Toxicology reports will not be available for some time, but it did not appear that alcohol or drugs played a part in the accident, Clemens said. Jeter’s family is from South Carolina, but funeral arrangements are being handled locally, he said.
