Source: A bicyclist died early today after he was hit by a car Wednesday night. Authorities said Cortez White, 26, was riding his bicycle in the 500 block of Second Avenue North when he was struck by a vehicle at 8:49 p.m. Birmingham Fire and Rescue workers took White to UAB Hospital. He was pronounced dead at at the hospital at 12:13 a.m., according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. Birmingham police said details of the crash weren't immediately available.
