DELTA, Colo. (KKCO) - The identity of a Delta man killed while riding his bike Wednesday night has been released. Delta Police responded to Highway 92 and Henrie Street from reports of a cyclist being hit by a car just before 8 p.m. Wednesday. There, they found 63-year-old Craig Warren Hampton of Delta seriously injured after he tried to cross Highway 92. Officials say Hampton was hit by a 60-year-old Eckert man driving a pickup truck. There's been no word on injuries to the truck driver or whether he faces any charges at this time. PREVIOUS STORY DELTA, Colo. Delta Police say the cyclist—whose name has not been released—was riding east on Highway 92 Wednesday around 8 p.m. As he was crossing near Henrie Street, he was struck by a pickup truck, driven by a 60-year-old Eckert man. When emergency crews arrived, the cyclist was taken to a Grand Junction hospital via CareFlight. He died shortly after. Police say the case is under investigation and no more information is available at this time.
