A 42-year-old bicyclist was struck in killed in East Bethel around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17. He appeared to be crossing Viking Boulevard Northeast just west of Breezy Point Drive Northeast when he was struck by a car traveling west on Viking Boulevard, the Anoka County sheriff's office said. He was airlifted to Regions Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. The driver, a 25-year-old East Bethel man, cooperated with investigators and remained at the scene, authorities said. He wasn't arrested. The sheriff's office, Minnesota State Patrol and the Ramsey County medical examiner's office are investigating. The identity of the bicyclist, from East Bethel, hasn't been released.
