Source: Police say a 22-year-old man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning while riding his bike. It happened shortly after 12 a.m. on LA 308 in Lafourche Parish. Investigators say 22-year-old Ethen Miller was traveling northbound on LA 308 on his bicycle when a Jeep Wrangler came traveling southbound on LA 308, striking the bicycle. The Wrangler was being driven by 40-year-old Brent Tauzin of Thibodaux, LA. Witnesses told police that the Wrangler stopped after it struck the bicycle, and then left the scene. Miller, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner's Office. After further investigation, the Wrangler was located at Tauzin's residence. Tauzin was not injured in the crash and was placed under arrest. Tauzin submitted to a breath test with a result of .194g%, which is more than double the legal limit of .08g%. Tauzin was arrested for vehicular homicide, hit and run and improper lane usage.
