Source: A female bicyclist who was struck and killed by a semi-trailer truck Monday on the South Side has been identified, authorities said. Evelyn Dean was pronounced dead at 2 p.m. at the scene, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office. The office did not have an address for Dean or an exact age. The semi was entering the Norfolk Southern facility in the 300 block of West 47th Street around 1:40 p.m. Monday when it struck Davis who was riding a bicycle and immediately fled the scene, Chicago police said, citing early reports. Officials with Norfolk Southern weren't available for comment Monday morning. The police Major Accident Investigation Unit was handling the deadly collision, authorities said.
