Source: A Mexican National died Friday afternoon after being struck Thursday night by a vehicle while bicycling in Midland. According to city of Midland news release, 25-year-old Isai Olvera Mendez Lopez was on life support early Friday afternoon at Midland Memorial Hospital, but Justice of the Peace David Cobos said he was notified at about 5:45 p.m. that Lopez had died. The news release stated that Midland police responded to an accident report at 10:07 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of North Lamesa Road in Midland. Lopez was heading north on a sidewalk, failed to yield right-of-way to a white Kia Sorento driven by Stephanie Reyes, and was struck by the vehicle as Reyes entered a driveway, according to the news release. The Mexican Consulate in Presidio, as well as his family, had been notified of his condition.
