Source: A bicyclist killed after a collision Thursday with an SUV on Bancroft Road has been identified as an 88-year-old Concord resident, according to the Contra Costa coroner's office. James Connelly died Thursday due to multiple injuries resulting from his collision with a motor vehicle, the coroner's office reported Sunday. Police said he was traveling northbound on Bancroft Road near Mayhew Way about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, when he collided with a southbound SUV. He died after being taken to a nearby hospital. The SUV driver was uninjured. Walnut Creek police are investigating the cause of the accident. Anyone with information is asked to call 925-943-5833.
