Source: A 69-year-old woman was killed Tuesday morning when she was hit while riding her bicycle on Lunbeck Road and South Bridge Street in Chillicothe. The Ohio Highway Patrol said Jean Dalton ran a stop sign and that the driver of a minivan had expected her to stop. Dalton's bike was split in two and she died instantly, according to the OHP. Authorities said the woman was mentally handicapped and riding her bike to the Developmental Disabilities facility when she was killed. She was not wearing a helmet. John Hocker who heads up the adult services said Dalton lived alone, loved her pets and her independence. The driver of the van was not injured.
