Source: According to the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 10:10 p.m. on June 30, a 43- year-old-woman stated she was driving her Volvo at 25 mph in the #2 traffic lane on the Westbound 90 Freeway to the 405 northbound transition road north of Jefferson Boulevard. The CHP incident report states a 51-year-old man was walking in a northerly direction in the #2 traffic lane when for "unknown reasons" he stepped into the path of the Volvo. The cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma and the driver was not arrested, according to CHP. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner's office told Patch that as of 11 a.m. Monday, the name of the victim had not been released, as the next of kin had not yet been notified.
