Source: A bicyclist was killed when he was struck by a car late Monday night in Tulsa. Police say the 21-year-old man was riding his bicycle at 10:15 p.m. on 71st Street near Elwood when he was hit from behind by a car. The cyclist has been identified as John Baluh. Baluh was a 2010 graduate of Cascia Hall, administrators confirm. The fatal wreck near the Tulsa Hills Shopping Center may have involved more than one car, according to Tulsa Police. "Right now we've got conflicting reports as to how many vehicles were involved, and we're still doing an investigation at this time," said Sergeant Ryan Woods, Tulsa Police Department. The 21-year-old bicyclist was eastbound on West 71st Street when he was hit by a white car, also going eastbound. The driver of the white car stopped, but police say another car may have also hit the cyclist and kept going. Baluh was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police say the car's driver was questioned and released.

I was John’s teacher in the 5th grade at Sts. Peter and Paul School. He was such a wonderful student and such a caring individual. He used the quote from a book we were reading,“in the grand scheme of things, what does it matter” when other students would complain. He was an asset to our classroom. Such a caring young man. I am sad that he has left us, but so happy that he will be in a place where he is truly blessed. My prayers are for the family. If you could send me an address, I would appreciate it.
