Source: The bicyclist was pronounced dead this evening. The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet identified the man. A 60-year-old Tacoma bicyclist who crashed into a van Thursday has died, police said. The accident happened at 2:50 p.m. in the 6400 block of N. 26th Street near N. Vassault Street. The driver of the van told officers the male bicyclist swerved left so he tried to steer out of the way but the bicyclist struck the side of the vehicle. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head injuries.
