Source: A male bicyclist is dead after being hit by a car at 6:36 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Drew Street and North Evergreen Avenue, according to Clearwater Police. The bicyclist was heading eastbound in the curb lane along Drew Street when he was hit by Milton Lee Smallwood, 54, who was driving a 1994 Buick, according to a prelimary police investigation. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, said Elizabeth Watts, police spokeswoman. His name is being withheld while police notify the man's family. The area surrounding the accident was closed for a few hours for the investigation.
