A bicyclist was struck by a sport utility vehicle Thursday night and killed on eastbound Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near the on-ramp to south Interstate 805, San Diego police said. The man’s name was not released, but he was identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as a 53-year-old San Diego resident. The incident was reported at 5:50 p.m., said police Officer Dino Delimitros. The cyclist was riding west of the freeway and veered left in front of a Nissan Pathfinder, investigators said. The female driver stopped at the scene, Delimitros said. The cyclist died at the scene.
