Source: A 12-year-old was killed Friday evening when his bike collided with a car. The Highway Patrol said that Omar Anthony Tafolla collided with a car driven Jaquetta Boyd on Puckett Ferry Road, about a mile north of Cross Hill. The coroner said that Tafolla died of blunt force trauma to his head. The accident has been ruled an accident, so there are no charges against Boyd, according to the coroner. The Highway Patrol said that Boyd was transported by ambulance to a hospital. She was wearing her seatbelt and was not seriously injured. Anthony was from Laurens, but he was a student at Saluda Elementary because his mother works at Saluda High School.
