Source: A Lousiville man was killed sometime early Monday after being struck by a car on Grade Lane. About 4:53 a.m., a motorist traveling on Grade Lane noticed a body laying off to the side of the road in the grass and called 911 for help, said Alicia Smiley, a spokeswoman for Louisville Metro Police. The man has been identified as 38-year-old Travis Christy, of the 100 block of East Wellington Avenue. He died of multiple blunt force trauma sustained in the crash, said Larry Carroll, a deputy Jefferson County Coroner. He died at the scene of the incident. Police believe the man was riding his bicycle in the southbound lane of Grade Lane and was hit by a car traveling in the same direction. That vehicle did not stop to render aid. Investigators believe the man who was killed had been struck sometime after 3:45 a.m., Smiley said. Police said the vehicle is possibly a Silver Ford F-150, unknown year, with damage to the right side of the vehicle and a missing side passenger mirror. The vehicle may also have front right headlight damage. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous crime tip line at 574-LMPD.
